The Mexican Fan Palm also known as Washingtonia Robusta will eventually grow into a tall slender trunk palm with large fan shaped leaves. It will survive outdoors with proper protection although the leaves will may get damaged by frost. Hopefully damaged leaves will be replaced by new growth in the spring.
The palm prefers to be positioned in a sunny position. Washingtonia robusta can grow to 30m and part of the same family of the California fan palm, Washingtonia filifera.
